How to rank on Google, fast
There are 2 things you should do after launching your website to speed up your SEO.
This week I’ve been thinking about what new website owners should do first to appear on Google as quickly as possible.
It all started when I received a WhatsApp from a recent client of mine.
Not being able to find yourself on Google is a common concern for new website owners.
The short answer is that Google will naturally find your new site over time… but there are 2 things you should do after launching a website to speed up the process:
- Submit your website url to Google Search Console
- Generate a .xml sitemap and submit this to your Google Search Console account
Once you’ve completed these 2 steps, you’ll start appearing on Google fairly quickly.
I can attest to this after launching unweb.studio just a few days ago and seeing us appearing well on Google already.
Of course, being indexed by Google is just the start.
You’ll want to continue working on your SEO continuously, in order to climb up the rankings to be discovered by potential clients. Some long term strategies I recommend for improving your SEO:
- Identifying keyphrases to rank for
- Content creation (on-site blog)
- Developing a backlink strategy
- PPC Google advertising
- Optimising your Google My Business
